What we collect

This site has exactly two forms, and collects nothing beyond what each needs:

• Newsletter signup (footer): your email address only.
• Project inquiry (#contact): your name, email address, company (optional), a selected budget range, and the project description you write.

We do not use tracking cookies, and the only cookie this site sets is a short, random, non-identifying token used to protect the two forms above from cross-site request forgery (CSRF) — it contains no personal data and isn't used for tracking.

Why we collect it

Newsletter emails are used solely to send the newsletter you signed up for. Inquiry details are used solely to respond to your project inquiry. Neither is used for any other purpose, sold, or shared with third parties except the email-delivery provider needed to send the emails themselves (see "Third parties" below).

Double opt-in and unsubscribing

Newsletter signups require confirming via a link sent to the email address provided — an unconfirmed address is never added to the active list. Every confirmation includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works indefinitely, with no login required.

How it's stored

Email addresses, names, company names, and inquiry descriptions are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) in our database — they are not stored as plain text. A separate, one-way hash of your email is kept only to detect duplicate signups, and cannot be reversed back into an email address.

Retention

Unsubscribed or never-confirmed newsletter signups, and inquiries older than a reasonable business window, are periodically removed rather than kept indefinitely. The exact retention period is an operational decision for the site owner to set and document here before launch — see docs/SECURITY.md.

Third parties

Emails are sent through a transactional email provider (Resend or an SMTP service, configured via environment variables — see .env.example). That provider processes the email address and message content solely to deliver the email; it is not used for any other purpose by this site.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any confirmation email. To request deletion or a copy of any inquiry data you've submitted, contact contact@strydeven.com.
